2-7 Triple Low Draw also referred to as Deuce to Seven Triple Draw is a poker game where the lowest poker hand wins the pot. 2-7 is in the same family as 5 Card Draw and Badugi Poker allowing you to choose a number of cards from your hand to discard and receive replacement cards in hopes of completing the best hand at the table. Player’s should note, unlike other draw or hi lo games, 2-7 Triple Lowball ranks A’s as hi only and cannot be used in combination with a low hand.

Once this is done the dealer will begin the deal clockwise with each player receiving five cards face down. Once betting round has come to a complete, players will select which cards from their hand they would like to discard. 2-7 allows you to choose between 1-5 cards to discard or if your hand is strong enough you can “Stand Pat” and not discard any cards. This process will continue for another two draws and two more betting rounds until the showdown. The player with the lowest ranked hand will win the pot. This rule also applies for straights. The best possible hand is: 7, 5, 4, 3, and 2.

2-7 Triple Draw Poker Gameplay

A hand begins with the first players clockwise from the dealer placing forced bets, known as blinds. Each player is dealt 5 hole cards.

A round of betting occurs. Starting with the first player clockwise from the blinds, each player has an opportunity to call (match) or raise (increase) the current bet, or fold and exit the hand. When this betting round is complete, a draw takes place.

Starting clockwise from the button, players choose one or more cards to discard. A player may also discard no cards and “stand pat”. Players are dealt replacement cards for any discards.

Another round of betting occurs, starting with the first player clockwise from the dealer. A second draw takes place, followed by another round of betting.
